Heats run in the mornings, Finals in the afternoon – Trophy presentations Saturday and Sunday after Finals.

Great selection of Healthy food and beverages, including salads, fruit, sandwiches, wraps, sushi, muffins, health bars, juice, flavoured milk, Di Bella coffee van and wood fired pizzas.

Vendors will also be selling paddling equipment, clothing, nutritional supplements and jewellery.

The Havaianas Thong Challenge returns this Australia Day as NSW prepare to defend their World Record set in 2011 – a whopping 2068 giant Havaianas inflatables on the water!

Havaianas will be operating free coach services to and from the event in Mooloolaba.

Christmas Lights Boat Parade at Bluewater Point Resort

This year’s Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade is shaping up to be the best! The event provides great family entertainment and viewing of up to 50 vessels completely decorated with Christmas Lights and promenading through the waterways of Mooloolaba and Minyama.

Sunday 6th November 2011 – Lake Kawana, Sportsmans Parade

The TQ School Age Championships acts as the selection event for Regional School Teams across South East Queensland and the Northern Territory in the aim of competing at the Queensland State Schools Triathlon in February 2012. 

Parking will be facilitated in the following areas; Tandem Ave, Bearing Ave, Commerce Ave, Main Drive and the car park in Stockland Park off Nicklin Way.

Bluewater Point Resort has accommodation just 5 mins away on Nicklin Way.

Sunshine Coast Fishing Hot Spot

The Mooloola River mouth around Point Cartwright has recently been listed as one of the Sunshine Coasts best hot spots for fishing. 

Coast  anglers are enjoying some of their best fishing in years, with the fish almost lining up to jump on the hook in some spots.

Apparently, the recent cold mornings, wet weather and flooding earlier in the year are to thank for the excellent fishing conditions this winter.

The Daily’s fishing expert Mark Plank said after an ordinary past few seasons, anglers could expect to bag a good catch at many Sunshine Coast hot spots.

He said fishermen experienced similar conditions after the 1974 flood because of the all nutrients it washed into the river systems.

Mr Plank revealed a few hot spots where families could land a big one over the weekend, the inlet at Mooloola River being one of them.
